I recently embarked on a two week Photoshop painting adventure using my Collossy template. They were time consuming, with lots of experimentation, layering, and more. The results consist of  three new paintings, three very large .psds, and three slightly smaller photoshop files. These are a bit more explicit than my previous versions. The sensual has always been there, but I want to the push the sexual/erotic part of my work to the fore.  I do think they came out great, but it really brought into focus that I need my own “material” as it were. More of my own photos and drawings to do these things on. Plus it really makes me long for physical media.

I was unsure if I would be using the post part that much on the revamped HYPNOTIZA. However I find myself actually wanting to share about the process of updating this site. The hardest part? The hunt for content. Why is it so difficult? Three different computers, 3 external hdd’s spread between Seattle and Redmond, Washington. Luckily most of the content is confined to 2 comps with 2 external hdds.

The extra difficult, and interesting, part is that I’m wanting to show the evolution of a particular exploration. Some of these progressions have been going on for years. One good example over at my resume/portfolio site is the Jen Finch Photography logo. That’s been in the works for at least three years and more likely five.

I’m actually excited to be doing this, it’s not feeling like a chore. Maybe it’s the new theme, maybe a new big burst of creativity. It may even be that since I was sort of forced to update my resume and portfolio, it got me thinking about revamping HYPNOTIZA. All in all, I’m glad it’s happening.
