So my role as a design rescuer continues. The project with Drkmd.com is just about at the level where it can sustain itself; the layout is complete with a few tweaks here and there. It has been a great learning experience with the Headway theme, a real important change in for the future of wordpress themes. I will continue to work with my friend on Drkmd.com doing advertising design for print or updating some of the galleries.
I’m starting two more projects, one is the redesign of ihatebikethieves.com and the design and launching of a complete site for Alki Beach Tattoos. I’m also hoping to start a business or site with my friend Shane called Here to Help. Shane manages to attract a large number of folks that need design help, it should be a great opportunity to do more Wordpress design as well as identity and print.

Yes I’ve been away from Hypnotiza for a while. Have I stopped being creative? Hell No! Just damn busy. I have been working with one of my good friends, rescuing a site from a horrible design. He seems to attract clients with significant design issues. Don’t even get me started on the site and the guys that built the previous version. I also helped out another with a couple of her identities. Plus the holidays, and multiple projects at work and around the house. I barely have room to breathe!
After my current work-load eases up, I’ll post up some of the results. Have a great holiday!

I’m working on a new painting, and this one is definitely much harder. I’m basically using a line drawing I did about 18 years ago from a photo I don’t have anymore. I’m trying to remember the highlights and shadows from memory, not an easy task. It’s coming along nicely, there’s just a few spots that need extra attention.

Time for a logo revamp for hypnotiza. I’ve never been totally happy with my robot look or just a text based one. Neither have ever seemed to have a connotative link. The site might also be headed for a color change or at the least a layout change with a new theme.

I’ve been Poladroiding up a storm lately and don’t seem to be getting tired of doing it. It has got to be one of the easiest most rewarding “creative” things to do. I’ve posted a bunch up on Flickr, and it’s always a good place to see my recent ‘droids. You can always see the most recent upload on the front page, down on the right.
In film news, I’m still waiting to send my Diana F+ rolls to get processed. Next payday!

I’m taking on a project that should enable one of my friends to update her own site, and get more of her artwork visible online. Her site is pretty cool, but she has no control over it. During a recent visit/reunion I told her that I would set up a test Wordpress site for her to check out. I pimp WP to a lot of my friends, it could be starting to turn into a problem. The test site is coming along nicely. Needs a few tweaks here and there, and some color adjustments. All in all though, I think it will really empower her to upload more stuff, plus we might set up a trade. I build a site, and she pays me with some art. Perfect.

Hypnotiza has been a bit neglected lately. I’ve been out of town for the last few weeks, and hope to get back on the wagon. Up next: New set of brushes.

I’ve been busy, busy, busy! I Mmade some investigatory stabs into a sexier themed “painting” from some older pics. The initial sketch requires some compositional changes that need mapping out, but I like the theme and the graphic elements. I’ve also built some bokeh inspired wallpapers, which will be posted up here pretty soon. Those were triggered by my recent foray into Linux and customizing the desktop.
I also finally pulled the trigger on buying a Diana F+ camera. Doing the low-tech, toy camera, film thing. I really have to think about each shot, especially since film isn’t all that cheap, especially 120mm film! I’m on my third roll of color film, with a couple of rolls of black and white waiting in the fridge. I can’t wait to get the film processed!

My revised version of the Cracked Desk Brush Set made it up on Brusheezy. I was worried for a bit there, because it seemed to be taking a little longer than usual.
